Gunny · a Pademelon Software product

Run the club.
Skip the paperwork.

Gunny is the kiosk check-in and club-management platform for Australian shooting clubs. Members scan one screen on the way in, or check in with no phone at all, and attendance, genuine-reason quotas and your regulator returns count themselves.

What it does

Every shooting club you know runs on a clipboard, a spreadsheet andsomeone's memory.

The sign-on sheet that lives in a folder. The genuine-reason count nobody's sure of until renewal. The compliance return pieced together by hand the night before it's due. Gunny is the system designed to fix that: members sign on at the door, attendance and scores count themselves, and the return the regulator wants is an export, not a weekend.

Check-in, at the door

Walk in. Scan the screen.
You're signed on.

A kiosk by the door is all it takes. Members scan the code on screen as they arrive, signed on before they've set the range bag down. No folder, no clipboard, no re-typing names on Monday.

  1. A code that can't be faked

The code on the kiosk refreshes every minute, so a photographed one is dead within seconds. Every sign-on is tied to a single-use token: attendance you can stand behind at audit.

  2. Forgot your phone? Still covered

Flat battery, left it in the car, no smartphone at all: it doesn't matter. Members check in right on the kiosk, which takes a quick photo to confirm who's on the range. Nobody's day goes uncounted.

  3. Never loses a sign-on

Clubhouse out of signal? Check-ins queue on the device and sync the moment it's back online. A flat spot in the coverage never costs a member a counted day.

Easy taps, big buttons, nothing to install. Built so the least tech-confident member at your club can sign on without help.

Everything the club runs on

From the sign-on sheet
to the regulator.

  1. 01

    Kiosk check-in at the door

A tablet by the door signs members on as they arrive. They scan the on-screen code, or check in with no phone at all. It works with no signal, and the code refreshes every minute so a photographed one can't be reused.

  2. 02

    Match calendar & signups

Set up the season's calendar in one place. Members see what's on, register from their phone and turn up on the list, with no clipboard, no group-chat roll call and no re-typing names on Monday.

  3. 03

    Genuine-reason quotas, automatic

Gunny counts every competitive match and range day from check-ins and measures them against each member's requirement, per gun class. Members watch their own progress; the club sees who's short long before renewal.

  4. 04

    Results & scores

Record match results on the day and they flow straight onto the leaderboard. Every score is tied to the check-in that earned it, so what counts as a competitive match is never in doubt.

  5. 05

    Compliance & member records

Real identities (name, licence, address) live in an encrypted vault, kept apart from the day-to-day app and audited on every access. The returns the regulator asks for build straight from your attendance records, so submitting them is minutes, not a weekend.

  6. 06

    Working bees & member status

Track working-bee attendance and who's paid up alongside everything else. The whole picture of a member (attendance, quota and dues) sits in one place instead of three spreadsheets and a shoebox.

Admin & member

One system.
Two sides.

Gunny runs in the browser today: your committee on a laptop or the clubhouse iPad, your members on their phones or a computer at home. Both sides stay in sync, so what happens at the door shows up in the office the moment it does.

Security & privacy

Built for the data
clubs actually hold.

Names, dates of birth, addresses, licence numbers: clubs hold exactly the information that has to be protected. We built Gunny security-first, because that's the part paper and spreadsheets get wrong.

  1. Hosted in Australia

Every record lives on Australian infrastructure, in Sydney, never offshore.

  2. Identities encrypted, kept apart

Legal names, dates of birth, addresses and licence details are AES-256 encrypted in a separate vault. Day to day, the app only ever shows a member's association number.

  3. Every access logged, first

Before anyone can see a member's real details, Gunny writes a tamper-proof record of who looked, at what, and why. The audit trail is complete by design.

  4. One club, one club's data

A club's admins see only their own members. No other club can see them, and neither can we.

  5. Hardened sign-in

Account lockouts and bot protection guard every login, and administrator accounts are required to use two-factor authentication.

  6. Compliance, audited end to end

When it's time to report, exports pull from the encrypted vault with every access logged, so the return you send the regulator is accurate and accountable.

The same records power your LRD returns, so what you submit to the regulator is accurate, auditable, and built without a late night.

Your club owns its data: export your members, attendance and results at any time, and ask us to delete everything if you ever leave. Read ourprivacy & data-handling policy.

Common questions

Answered
honestly.

If yours isn't here, drop us a lineand we read every message.

  1. What is Gunny?

Gunny is a club-management and compliance platform for Australian shooting clubs. It handles your match calendar, kiosk check-in at the door, results, genuine-reason participation quotas, working bees, membership status and regulator reporting, replacing the sign-on folder, the spreadsheet and the end-of-year compliance scramble with one app.

  2. What does it cost, and do members pay?

Gunny is a flat A$100 per month per club, with unlimited members and every feature included. The club holds the subscription; individual members use the app for free and never pay a cent.

  3. How does check-in work?

A tablet by the door runs a kiosk that shows a check-in code. Members scan it with their phone as they arrive, and the code refreshes every minute, so a photographed one can't be reused. Anyone without a phone checks in on the kiosk itself, which captures a quick verification photo. It all works offline: if the clubhouse has no signal, sign-ons queue on the device and sync the moment it's back online, so attendance that carries licence consequences is never silently lost.

  4. Does a member need a smartphone?

No. Members with a phone scan the kiosk code in seconds, but anyone without one (flat battery, left it at home, or no smartphone at all) checks in directly on the kiosk, which takes a quick photo to confirm who's on the range. Nobody is turned away or left off the count.

  5. Is it hard for older or less tech-savvy members?

It's built to be the opposite. Checking in is two taps and a scan, with big buttons and nothing to install. Members who'd rather not deal with an app don't have to; the kiosk handles them at the door. The goal was something the least tech-confident member at the club can use without help.

  6. How are genuine-reason quotas tracked?

Gunny counts each member's competitive matches and range days from their check-ins and measures them against the genuine-reason requirement for their gun classes. Members see their own progress live, and admins can see who's falling short well before renewal. Attendance is always the source of truth. We launch against Victorian requirements first, with other states to follow.

  7. Is our members' personal data secure?

Yes, it's the part we built first. Everything is hosted in Australia (Sydney). The day-to-day app only ever shows association numbers; real identities (legal name, date of birth, address and licence details) are AES-256 encrypted in a separate vault, only decrypted for compliance and admin tasks, and every single access is logged before the details are shown. Logins are protected by account lockouts and bot protection, and administrator accounts are required to use two-factor authentication. One club can never see another club's members or data, and neither can we.

  8. Which states does Gunny support?

Gunny is built for Australian clubs, with Victoria as the first supported jurisdiction. Its quota and compliance rules are built around Victoria's genuine-reason participation requirements. Other states are on the roadmap; if you'd like yours prioritised, get in touch.

  9. What platforms does it run on?

Gunny runs in the browser today: the door kiosk on any iPad, your committee on a laptop or the clubhouse tablet, and members on their phones or any computer at home. Members can sign in from a home computer to manage their profile, sign up for matches and track their quota. Native member apps are available now on both the App Store and Google Play, with check-in, the match calendar, results and quota progress all on the phone, in sync with the web.
