Privacy
in plain English.

We collect as little personal information as we can get away with, store it carefully, and never sell or trade it. This page sets out exactly how that works, and what you can ask us to do about it.

01 — Who we are

This policy is published by Pademelon Software Pty Ltd (ACN 698 238 998), a private company registered in Victoria, Australia. In this document, "we", "us" and "our" refer to that company.

We are an Australian Privacy Principles (APP) entity under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This policy describes how we handle personal information in the course of running our software studio.

02 — What we collect

The information we typically hold falls into three buckets.

Information you give us directly

  • Your name, role, business name and email address — usually from an enquiry email or contact form.
  • Any details you choose to share about your business, team, or the problem you're trying to solve.
  • Billing details (ABN, business address) once we begin an engagement.

Information we collect automatically

  • Standard server logs from our website and infrastructure — IP address, browser type, requested URL, timestamp.
  • Aggregate analytics about how this website is used. We do not use cross-site tracking or advertising pixels.

Information we receive from clients about their users

  • When we build or operate software on behalf of a client, that client's system may contain personal information about their users (customers, staff, members, etc.). We handle this information as a processor on the client's behalf — under the terms of the client agreement, not this policy. Your relationship in that case is with our client.

03 — How we use it

We use personal information only for the purposes you'd expect us to:

  • Responding to enquiries and quoting work.
  • Delivering, supporting and improving the software we build.
  • Sending project-related correspondence and invoices.
  • Meeting our legal, tax and accounting obligations.

We do not use personal information for advertising, profiling, or automated decision-making, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.

04 — Sharing & service providers

To run the studio, we rely on a small number of trusted service providers. Where personal information is involved, those providers are contractually bound to protect it and only use it for the agreed purpose. The main categories are:

  • Email & communications — Google Workspace.
  • Infrastructure & hosting — Cloudflare, Supabase, and other cloud providers selected per project.
  • Accounting & billing — our Australian-based accountants and invoicing tools.
  • Source control & project tooling — GitHub and similar engineering tools.

Some of these providers store data outside Australia (typically in the United States or European Union). We choose providers with strong security and data-handling practices, and where possible we configure them to keep data inside the regions you'd expect.

We will only ever disclose personal information to a third party where: you have asked us to; it's required to deliver the service you've engaged us for; or we're compelled to by law.

05 — Storage & security

We take security seriously — both because we have to, and because building software responsibly is what we do for a living. In practice that means:

  • Encryption in transit (HTTPS / TLS) for everything we run.
  • Encryption at rest for production data stores.
  • Access to client systems is limited to the people on that project, using strong passwords and multi-factor authentication.
  • Regular review of access, backups and security posture.

We retain personal information only for as long as it's needed for the purpose it was collected, or as required by Australian law (tax records, for example, must be retained for at least five years).

06 — Cookies & analytics

This website uses a minimal set of first-party cookies and lightweight analytics to understand how pages are used. We don't use third-party advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or cross-site trackers.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings without affecting the usability of the site.

07 — Your rights

Under Australian privacy law you have the right to:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you.
  • Request a copy of it.
  • Ask us to correct anything that's wrong or out of date.
  • Ask us to delete it, where we're not required to keep it.
  • Opt out of any non-essential communications.

To exercise any of these rights, email info@pademelonsoftware.com.au. We'll respond within a reasonable timeframe — usually a working day, and never more than 30 days.

08 — Children

Our services are aimed at businesses and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe we have, please get in touch and we'll remove it.

09 — Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time as the studio evolves or as the law changes. When we do, we'll update the "last updated" date at the top of the page. Material changes will be flagged on this page before they take effect.

10 — Contact & complaints
